On the 25th of July i had participated an event called the Dream Team Challenge what better way to spend your Saturday morning than waking up to the challenge right ? *sighs*. As i arrived , we were told to register our names and then we're given a button badge which in FCM the colour is green , this is useful for the next section which is we have to form a group of 4-6 people from different faculties. I had a friend that is in FCM which is named Uzair so we're both on the same group however the slight challenge is that we couldn't find any people from other faculties since most of them were already in their own groups.
Eventually after sometime we found other people from different faculties; one from FOM named Si Len and the other one from FCI named Harith. This was the first time all of us meet or interact with each other except for Uzair of course.
Moving on the the DTC itself; we were given a topic of ' Foster STEM Passion ' among kids/highschool students. There are 3 platforms for us to choose which is a mobile app, web app and IoT which stands for internet of things. We were a bit confused as where to pick but eventually we chose to do a mobile app as our platform and our project title is Logolepsy which stands for an obsession for words which we thought would make sense since our mobile app is to promote STEM for kids.
We brainstormed for a while to think about an idea and all of us came up with a few ideas; Uzair suggested we could make a text-decision based video game. The game would ask the students a sets of question and the kids are given multiple choices based on STEM that would let them progress to the next level but we figured that's going to be too hard as it is story driven STEM game. Harith showed me a simple game called Tower of Hanoi and he suggested that we could do something like that but then it's hard to implement the STEM for the kids so we had to come up with new ideas. I suggested that we could make a mobile game like a quiz and the game would consist of multiple topics about STEM so that the kids would have passion in it.
All of us agreed on this idea and we also came up with the reward based progression so everytime the kids uses this app on a daily basis they'll get a reward and that makes the kids wants to play more of it. Furthermore, we also decided to include an online competition between the mobile app users since this also would make the kids wants to compete in their knowledge between their friends also known as a leaderboard.
So , as for now this is our ideation and this is the one that we are going to try and develop a mobile app.
